Foundation Studies is an international, one-year, online-based course for all healthcare professions. The aim is to introduce students to the concepts, working methods, and therapeutic options of anthroposophic medicine. Learning elements include self-study and regional or digital collaboration in mentored learning groups and live sessions.

Fundamentals of Anthroposophic Medicine

Study body, life, soul and spirit. Experience the healing powers of nature, movement and meditation. Deepen your therapeutic abilities. With friends. In a team.

Anthroposophic medicine is an integrative form of medicine. It was initiated 100 years ago at the Arlesheim Clinic by physician Ita Wegman and cultural reformer and founder of anthroposophy Rudolf Steiner. Today, it is practiced in over 60 countries worldwide. It expands university medicine to include holistic aspects of the physical, vital, mental, and spiritual dimensions of the human being. In practice, this leads to expanded diagnostic and therapeutic options within a multi-professional team.

In addition to modern drug therapy and interventional procedures, phytotherapeutic, homeopathic, and specific anthroposophic remedies, nursing applications, lifestyle counseling, body, movement, and art therapies, as well as counseling on psychosocial and spiritual aspects are used.

Foundation Studies offers a comprehensive introduction into the concepts, working methods and therapeutic options of Anthroposophic Medicine. Foundation Studies is conducted online and can be completed from anywhere. The learning content is spread across eight modules. Each module begins with a half-day live-streamed session. Between each live session, additional study material and supplementary lectures are made available on our online learning platform. Study groups (in-person or online) offer opportunities for regular exchange.
