Lecture, oratory and moderation

Next course: April 22 to 26, 2026

In this five-day intensive course, participants practise and learn the craft of free speech, moderation and presentation. The course teaches presentation skills and promotes intensive personal development.

Since its founding, the Arlesheim Academy has implemented a unique teaching approach in its training programs. In response to requests, we have designed a seminar where participants can learn the art of public speaking and moderation.

What makes a speech moving and effective? How can I approach a topic in a structured way and organize my thoughts into a coherent structure? How can I deal with doubt, uncertainty, and nervousness? How can I achieve clear language and a strong presence?

The seminar focuses on self-awareness. In lecture-workshops, we explore both spontaneous topics and those brought by participants. We provide time for individual work, discussion, and mindful feedback. At the same time, we use movement exercises, improvisation, and acting to work on posture, gestures, speech, and directing our attention. Exercises in listening and facilitation also allow participants to make their contributions interactive. After all, the art of speaking also requires a path of inner development, for which meditations are offered and spiritual perspectives are explored.

We hope to help students build their confidence and courage when performing.
